migrating server to vmserver

Hi All,
I am having to setup an identical server on a vm machine. I will need all configurations and information from the old server to be exact on the vmserver. Basically a clone. What would be the easiest way to do this? Is Rsync a possibility? We are using an old version of Red Hat 7.3

Rsync should work; if at all possible I'd boot both the server and the VM
of a live CD and do it from there after having created the appropriate
partitioning and file-systems on the VM.

Thanks Tink. The vm server has already been created and the file system is in place. Is there a way to rysnc the entire server all in one command? Or do i have to go directory to directory? I am not to familiar with rsync. Could you please give me an example command?
