Question Mandriva


Does anyone know how to setup VMware workstation on mandriva 8.0 it has been installed but I can't get any further. I would appreciate some help.

Hi erick110,

First thing you have to do is setup a user group for vmware, i'm not sure what it's called, check the docs, and add all users who are allowed run a VM to this group.

After that, it should be plain sailing. Did the install give you any issues about kernel headers, no kernel module installed, that kinda thing?

What is mandriva 8.0? I'm afraid I have never heard of that one.

Errrr Linux Mandrake 8.0 from 2001 maybe ?
did we respond to a really old post....


OP may want to consider installing a current Distro before trying to virtualize on top of it..

Hmmm, i've never run mandriva before, but what farslayer is saying sounds about right:
