I am running mandrake 9.2 and I have the silver speedtouch 330 adsl modem, I am having a hell of a time getting it running, I have read so much stuff and downloaded many patchs, drivers, etc and still can get the thing working!, can I please get a simple, easy to use way of connecting the speedtouch to the internet.

Ha the really really easiest way is to get a mandrake boxed set. They have the speedtouch driver installed and ready to go, you just follow the instructions in the make new connection of the mandrake control centre (and yes I always get the boxed set discs from mandrake, I did use a download version when I first started at version #8.2, but since version #9.0, I stuck with the boxed set disc's - usually the powerpack version, that way I save lot's of stress).

Sorry, because I can't do anything remotely, I've just had a search for "speedtouch" and check out some of the results to see which one looks anything like the one that I used when I had one (the older turquoise cow shit shaped one).

The one that looks favourite is this thread the post from "Waffel" toward the bottom of the first page is pretty similar to what I had to do, but read the thread all the way through, as there's a few ideas there including the sourceforge guide (linked).

I got so pi$$ed off with trying to get the speedtouch 330 rev4 modem running that I went out and bought an ADSL router, I still can't seem to get the linux machine connected to the internet (mandrake 9.2), is it me, or is setting hardware up on linux a real pain.
