I have googled it but couldn't found the resolution that's why I am opening a thread here, hope I can find solution here....
One of my e-mail account's quota is exceeded, its on Linux and having cPanel. I have assigned this e mail account 2000 MB quota which is exceeded and e mails are bouncing back to senders.
I have delete content from console, after that there is no e mail left in any folder of this e mail account but the quota is still showing 2000 out of 2000 MB.
I have also ran /scripts/fixquotas on the server but no luck. Its still showing the same and mails are bouncing back. Please advice. Thank you in advance.

Far different tone to this question than the ones you've posted previously. Hope it lasts.
You don't say if you're using Postfix or not, but I'm assuming you are. There are two things you can try. First, check the quota assignments with "repquota -avug", and see if the users/groups are reporting things correctly. If so, and just one user is having a problem, try deleting the quota.rc file from that users home directory, and see if the problem abates. What message(s) does fixquotas return for that user/system?

Thank you for your reply.
I had ran repquota -avug and all looks fine, however I couldn't able to find quota.rc file, could you please tell me the exact location of that file as it is not in that user's home directory.
Also, the file manager shows 0.0 MB in that e-mail account, but when I click on e-mail accounts in cPanel, its showing 2000 out of 2000 MB used, mails are bouncing back to senders as well. Please advice.

I have solved this by deleting maildirsize file of that e mail account, and just refreshed. It is now showing 0 out of 2000 MB Used. :-)
