Looking for ideas to repurpose an Asus EEEPC netbook.

The ideas i have are:

1. Use it in the kitchen for digital cookbook and radio. (Boring and easy to do).

2. CCTV (I Like this but need help)

3. Home Automation (Even better idea, need lots of help)

If you have any better ideas or can offer advice, please do.

Mine used to do double duty streaming movies to my Plasma Big Screen 52" TV and Stream internet radio through mocp in AntiX before I sold em.

Otherwise. They traveled in my saddle bags and used free wifi hot spots. I had a 701SD 8gig, and a 900 4/16 gig ssd with the celerons.

What software/device did you utilize to stream?

I can think of a few things (some depend more on space). Kitchen is useful as well as general portable computer (email, music, movies etc. depending on connection to tv), so you could do things from the couch.
Wardriving computer/Penetration testing (grab a USB GPS receiver and antenna, and a USB network card and antenna, and run Kali while driving around).
Secondary system to play around with learning things so you don't screw up your primary system.
Use with a live distro for online banking, etc. (leave no trace on your other systems, less chance of being compromised at home, but don't do out and about without a VPN, etc).
Tor project or VPN...

Depends on which model it is, there's quite a few with varying hdd sizes, processors, etc. I just use mine, a 1001HA, as a portable all-purpose computer running Slackware 14.1 with LXDE.
