how to enter into BIOS on a netbook ASUS EeePC 1005HA

Hello,

Thank you for reading this thread.

I am trying to install a GNU/Linux distro (ubuntu) on a netbook.
I have my pendrive ready to do that, but I can't enter into the BIOS to say the machine to start from USB device.

I tried F1, Del, F12,... but I only see the M$ Windows7 start boot menu.

I am in a hurry with this.

The model is
ASUS Eee PC 1005HA

I will thank you very much for this information.

Thank you for your time.

May all being be happy,

Try F2.

There should be an initial screen with the Asus logo that pops up, which should also tell you which key.

The manual...

The manual for this netbook (Win 7) says to press the F2 key at power on to bring up the POST screen, then to press F2 again to enter the BIOS.

The best technique may be to press and release the key repeatedly upon pressing "Start" in order to catch the BIOS as it begins to POST. When you see the POST screen, you can quickly press the "Pause" key and the POST process will stop, giving you a chance to look around.

The BIOS might have a setting allowing you to change POST so that the POST screen is shown, if that makes things easier. I like to read mine as a check.
