Linux partition

I have four partitions C,D,E and F on my system which has XP O/S and C drive as the primary drive. The C drive has 14 GB of free space a part of which I want to use to install Linux.
Can anybody please suugest me how to go ahead and create partition for linux without removing the existing O/S Windows XP or formatting the system.

Thanks

Hi!
The easiest way would be to use one of the other partitions

You could use Gparted (haven't used it my self but it do the job) to resize your C drive. BUT first of all make a backup from C, just incase something goes wrong, and keep in mind that you have to leave some free space for XP. Not sure how much but I guess a few gb should do. I forgot something: Run the XP defragmentation program before you do anything!

Please post your thread in only one forum. Posting a single thread in the most relevant forum will make it easier for members to help you and will keep the discussion in one place. This thread is being closed because it is a duplicate.

In this case I'm closing the original because the dupe has more responses...
