Linux Games

I found a site with a lot of linux games, but when I played a few, I noticed that one of them looked like something that would work on an i386. I've got to take my red hat off to tux racer though. I enjoyed this game a lot.
I am not a linux expert, but learning quickly. In the last six months, I've had to reinstall windows three times on my home system and taking into account the number of drivers I had to install, it takes all day to get a virus infected ms box reinstalled.
Why is there no commercial software companies that create software for linux? It would be so nice to walk into a game shop and find a stall of games for linux that can compete with games made for windows. I know loki got windows games to run on linux, but the last time I checked their site it didnt look like the company was having much success.

I think this is a changing trend though especially with microsofts new licensing and the impressive GUI tools that linux now provides.

QUAKE

I will give this a try. The only problem is wine runs entirely in text mode and I although I am better with linux now, I am still no pro. I will give wine a try next month.
