Question LILO problem


Ive just updated my kernel to the last version and when i start my PC in the lilo says windows xp, linux (1) and linux (2) (1 & 2 are the version, dont remember the numers exactly). the question is that is ther a posibility to remove one of these linux? or when I have to update my sistem it will ad another of these items to my lilo?, please help me I am a really newbie, thanks in advance! (sorry for my bad english).

I have Linux Red Hat 9.0 and Windows XP professional on the same machine.

It's only been an hour goof ball.... Of course people will help you. Take the entry out of /etc/lilo.conf that makes the refrence to what you want to delete.... That easy... May have to re-run lilo afterwards tho.

Ive checked this and i have no /etc/lilo.conf file in my system is there another way to do it?, please help me Thanks

Are you *sure* you're running LILO as your bootloader -- many distros use grub instead, in which case you'll have a file called /etc/grub.conf. Follow the same advice as Jong357 gave you on that file and you should be set (you don't need to re-run grub after modifying its config file).

Actually, for Grub, the file is '/boot/grub/grub.conf'.....
