latex naming rules defining new commands

Where can I find information about latex naming rules defining new commands. They should all be letters, am I right? Also finding information on Category Codes, \makeatletter and catcodes.

Might want to read the documentation:
https://www.latex-project.org/help/documentation/

...especially since you've been working with it/asking about it for a little while now:
https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ex-4175711129/
https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ed-4175711155/

Or maybe you can try to put "defining new rules in latex" into a search-engine?
