kde splash screen in redhat 9

I'm using Redhat 9 and I really want to change the default kde splash screen. I have followed the instructions at kde-look.org but to no effect. The directory structure on redhat seems to differ from other distributions? Does anyone know where the default splash image is located on a redhat system?

I do not know if this will help, as I am using Red Hat 8.0.

My splash image is at /boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz

Assuming of course that you mean the image that comes up when you are asking by GRUB what you would like to boot into.

I'm currently looking for ways to change it myself. After playing with it for a while, all I ever managed to do was turn the boot splash screen a yellow and orange striped pattern. It was supposed to be a giant penguin, but hey, can't win them all.

i found the images in /usr/share/apps/ksplash/pics but i haven't tried to change anything yet. hope that helps.

Thanks for the help. The KDE splash screen is indeed located in /usr/share/apps/ksplash/pics. It was simply a matter of overwriting the pictures located there with themes/pictures from kde-look.org
