is this bluewhite64 install corrupt?

I've installed BW64 12.1 on a couple of PC's, they appear to be OK.. However I've installed it on this laptop and it seems to have a problem.

I've only had it up and running since yesterday and am using xfce as the front end. I've added the 32bit libraries etc,. and all appeard to work ok untill an hour or so ago..

I went into /usr/docs/ ran ls.. still OK. did an ls|more and instead of a listing I get BitchX starting to run.. folowed by lots of text characters on the screen followed by a blank screen which ends up with Fvwmanager running.

I can repeat this whether I'm in terminal mode or running in a xterm running in xfce whether I'm root or a user.

apart from a re-install anyone any ideas?

thanks Ken

Try this in a terminal.
Code:
alias more
It should say that there is no alias for more. If there is an alias then that could be the problem.

If that doesn't help then try this in a terminal window.
Code:
which more
That should point to /bin/more or /usr/bin/more. Then make sure that this file is the correct one by determining the file type as follows:
Code:
file /bin/more
Substitute the actual path to more on your system. The file command should return the following:
Code:
/bin/more: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.6.9, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), stripped

Thanks for he replies... "more" is / was the problem.. have removed links and renamed the program
more.. I've now setup an alias for more to "less. And have seen that the "more" program is a different
size my other PC's with BW64.. I will try and compile/reinstall it later..

So thanks again.. that more or less "solves" this problem.. I'm sorry I couldn't resist that.

Now I'm off to find the next one.
