Internet doesnt work

suse 9.0

well, i have tried for quite a long, to setup my new connection to the internet,

On windows is already configured, so i used this parameters

192.10.14.186 IP
gateway 192.10.14.1

but it has dns,
so I searched a little and found that i must put the dns numbers in
a file in etc/named.conf in a forwarders {ipnumber;}
so i putted there the number i had,

i have tried and tried but when i type "ifconfig eth0"

it displays the correct ip, but a Bcast that is 192.10.14.255

and i really dont understand why doesnt work,

I kinda believe is because of something about my dns but i really dont
know,

thanx if any one could help me
