Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Im vanitha.k. Im using redhat Enterprise linux (EL_3).Im unable to connect to internet with beetel usb modem .
The same modem is working fine in windows xp.
It is aitelbroadband connection.
Please help me to solve this,
Beetel make a number of modems. Which model do you have? Have you done a search for the model number + Linux? It's very likely that someone else has already found out how to set it up and put up instructions, if drivers to use it exist.
Location: Crawling through the 9th level of the Dungeons of Doom
Distribution: RH 9
Just shifted to red hat 9 (found an old CD under my bed!) and was starting to get reeeeeally annoyed with my ISP for setting me up with a crappy modem that makes my machine crash (a whole other story) and doesn't have linux drivers. i was just about to give up when i found this!! boon! o, sweet nectar!
