installing oracle 10g in Suse Linux Enterprise Edition 10.1 operating system


Hello friends,

I am new to this forum.
This is my first question in this arena.
my question may be stupid one for you people,because i am new to oracle as well as to LINUX, kindly answer my question.

Recently i bought a Laptop having preinstalled Suse Linux Enterprise Edition 10.1 operating system. Now i want to install oracle 10g. i went to oracle site for to download oracle 10g there are many very versions i am just confused with those versions.i found oracle 10g download links for linux x86. what is this linux x86?? is it similar to suse linux. can i install oracle 10g in my suse linux OS. but i could not find any oracle 10g links for suse linux 10.1. please give me solution whether i can install the oracle 10g in my suse linux or not. i am new to oracle which version of 10g would be suitable for me,coz i found many links like i given below

Oracle Database 10g Express Edition

Oracle Database 10g Express Edition for Linux x86
- Available for Debian, Mandriva, Novell, Red Hat and Ubuntu
Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) for Linux x86
Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) for Linux x86-64

Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) for Linux on Power


please provide me a good link i.e a suitable link for my OS. so that i can download from that.

Hi
x86 might be your architecture - go to wikipedia and search for x86.
If you don't have any fancy CPU, I would say that what you're looking for is...

Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) for Linux x86
or
Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) for Linux x86-64

...depending if you installed a 64bit suse or 32bit.
