Try again with other USB Enabled Live Distros like Endless OS or iLinux OS.
Flash it with Balena Etcher Free Software and if it fails again consider Hard Disk or USB Stick malfunction.
Wait, maybe I have misunderstood this whole time but when I put the ISO on the USB, the Zorin OS can only run from the USB?
I let it install overnight, and no error window popped up this morning. I restarted the computer as prompted and I got to the screen with big letters "ZORIN" on it and even the mouse cursor is there, but I can't move the mouse cursor. Looks like it's really trying to start up so I'm giving it time...

OK, I'm on the desktop now. First thing I noticed is a notification at the top saying an OS Software update failed. I tried to click it but the window disappeared. I can move around the mouse but the response time whenever I click anywhere is extremely slow.
According to zorin website the difference between the two is the desktop, core uses gnome and lite uses xfce. If you don't won't to do a reinstall, install the xfce4 desktop, open a terminal
then
Code:
sudo apt install xfce4
reboot, at the login screen settings select xfce
If it is still too slow try the 32bit and/or antix distro will be a better fit.

Thanks for all this help, by the way...
Questions:
1) Where can I find the installer for xfce4 desktop
2) how do I open a terminal?
