Question Installation Problem

I have an installation problem when I try to install Redhat 9:

When I put in cd 1 en then boot, I get the boot screen with the "boot:" command line.
The problem is that the extra commandos i type after linux (exp.: linux mediacheck) are not used. If I type linux mediacheck and press enter, I just get the normal installation and not the checking of my cd's. Any other command is not accepted either.

This wouldn't be much of a problem when the rest of the installation would work. When I am asked where the packages are found, I answer: on cd, it doesn't accept my cd. My cd-rom won't open, not even the led begins to flash.
So, I tried to install from the hard disk, when i select the fat partition where the iso's are located I get the warning that there is something wrong with my iso. I checked my iso's in windows with md5sum.exe, so I think there allright.

So the general problem is, that I am unable to start the installation.

My english ins't always 100%, I hope you don't mind

Thnx, Jelmer
