install question can't find an answer in another thread

i feel stupid for asking this considering how much i like doing it the denial and error way but i've got a winXP/FC3 dual boot with the grub going right now and i was thinking about messing around with SuSE 9.2...

now the question is can i in the first place and how do i go about installing a different distro? do i need to wipe the volume that i have FC3 off the face of the HD? or can i make another volume and throw SuSE onto that and cross my fingers pucker my mouth and jump on one foot and hope it all works as i've envisioned or is there an other option that i have yet to consider/conceive myself?

anyone? anyone?

You can install suse to another partition/hd. You can also share your swap drive between the two distros so u wont need to create a new one.
