IMAP Authentication Problem

i setup my postfix server to use dovecot using this guide:

Now everything works, i can send and it gets mapped into the correct folder but i am unable to authenticate to the server.

I am using dovecot, not sassl2, or courier-imap.

Now when i telnet this is what i see:

So obviously it's not setup properly. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Please post to the forum the output from the command "postconf -n".

after furthur investigation the content of postconf -a did not output dovecot. So i guess i recompile with dovecot support.
