Howto launch script at startup


I want to laugh a script i wrote everytime i boot up. the script needs to be run as root. but i dont want to log on as root. How can i do this?

Well, in Slackware I would put the command in /etc/rc.d/rc.local - I know Gentoo has a similar file, just I'm unsure which.
