Smile how to setup thin client just for telnet or ssh client use using boot diskless PXE.

Hi, i have a pc, this pc network card can boot using PXE. Is it posible to create a server(dhcp with tftp) to do a diskless PXE clients, lets say i want to configure this 5 pcs pc to boot linux OS which is just a small linux os can lets client to use telnet or ssh, so easy for me, because i no need to install a client OS on each pc to the hdd, so all client pcs are boot from server.

which linux OS is suitable?

Thank you.

What level of involvement are you looking for here? If you really want something that simple, the best bet might be to use something like LFS and create your own Linux OS for this project. That way you can have the most simplistic setup possible to reduce any chances of hiccups or wasted time/resources (by using an OS that is designed to do more than simple remote access).

If you want to use something pre-existing rather than create it yourself, then you might want to look into Puppy Linux, which can be booted over PXE. It is exceptionally light weight and should provide good performance on essentially any computer capable of PXE booting.
