Unable to open other locations directory with + sign in files on kali linux

Is your network working? (Are there smb shares on it?)
In what GUI application are you clicking a plus sign: nautilus? (post screenshot maybe)
I'm not sure I understand the scenario; do you have a CLI equivalent?
Do you mean the *Linux equivalent* of WinXP Browse-for-Folder, MyNetworkPlaces, +EntireNetwork: http://etc.usf.edu/techease/win/file...n-the-network/
