how to check that the email server is being used by someone to send spam ?

Hi all,

As mentioned in the subject, how to check that the email server is being used by someone to send spam and unlist from the black list ? I am using sendmail only and I don't know the settings of my previous colleagues that the email server only mark {spam} in the subject of those incoming mails. can I delete them directly without just marking them as {spam}, please give me a hand as really lots of spam. Please let me know where I can config the file or some software needed to be installed ? It seems that is spamassassin installed when I type "whereis spamassassin",but I don't know how to deal with it, please give me some steps.

Thanks
Keith

Go to the Spamassassin website: http://spamassassin.apache.org/doc.html, and read the Top-level README file. Then, go to http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/UsingSpamAssassin, and read WritingRules and download some custom rulesets which you can modify: CustomRulesets

I used that information to set up Spamassassin on my box. So far, I've had no spam in my inbox, and only two ham in the spam folder.
