Question how to back up 2x80 gig

Hi,

I bought two 80GB hardrives to be used in my Linux Samba server to store all my documents, media files, install kits etc.

Now I've never seen a harddrive fail yet, but I'm a little cautious and no matter how convenient it is, I'd rather not keep all my files on hardrives without a backup.

At the moment I have most of it already on various CDs, but as I download more and more things I either need to take care to copy everything to a 'to be burned' dir as well, or need some wy to back up the current fs structure.

Is there anything that makes it possible to backup that many data and is affordable, or if not how would I best go about creating incremantal backups?

Thanks in advance!

Londo

your best bet would be to get hold of a tape drive and see if you can fins a large capacity tape (or several quite large capacity tapes). i don't know if they can hit 2x80gigs but they still hold the record for most storage on one media (as far as i know).

Alex

P.S. but if they are new drives i doubt they will die on you anytime soon
