How do i install latest flash??


I downloaded the flash player for linux but I am not sure how to install it. The readme wasnt that helpful. Can someone walk me through this please?

Copy the libflashplayer.so file to your browser's plugin directory (~/.firefox/plugins or similar for other browsers, or equivalent system-wide directory). Restart browser and see if it works. For Firefox (and some others) you can type aboutlugins as the address to open and hit ENTER to see what plugins are loaded.

I was wondering where the browser plugin directory was at??By the way I am using my PS3 with YDL

cd into the unzipped directory, then run, as root:
# ./flashplayer-installer

he means you have to log-in as the root user before you can use that command.

I believe theres an RPM version of adobe flash player. I got from adobe's site. Well thats just for RPM based distros.

I'm pretty sure YDL uses rpms

I am sooo new to linux I do not know which one I am supposed to download. was it the RPMs one? can someone give me a step by step tutioral on how to install it. Thanks in advance

download the rpm
open up a terminal
cd to the directory the rpm is in
rpm -ivh flashplayer.rpm

Seems like the options given to you at the adobe download site are for i386. Like me you are using YDL, so it wont work for your PPC.

I don't think there's a PowerPC version of Flash.
