How can I slow the mouse down?

Hey guys, I am running Debian unstable, and KDE 3.3. I have xset set to the slowest setting possible, yet my mouse flies across the screen, it's driving me mad. Is there anything i can do to slow it down any more? I have been looking on the forums but i can't find anything other than xset. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the settings in KDE? Control Centre->Peripherals->Mouse goto the advanced tab and check pointer accelaration.

It is set at 1.0x, i would assume that is the slowest.

Have you tried adding the line

Option "Resolution" "256"

To your mouse settings in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 Fiddle with the resolution number to get the best speed. You will need to reboot X between changes.

This may or may not work depending on the mouse. but since xset didn't do it...
