Hot Monitor

After installing RH 7.1 I had these problems.
(1) Monitor would become hot to touch.
(2) Some of the key's on key board would not function.
(3) When clicking on cd-rom,control panel icon in KDE desktop, the screen would freeze. The only way out was to switch the computer off.
I believe my X configuration settings were ok,x&y deflections as specified in product specs. of monitor.I am running a dual boot system with Win 98 SE.I choose a partitionless install into D drive.

Thanks.

1. what settings do you have? if at a high resolution or refresh rates, it could destroy your monitor if set improperly..
2. what keys aren't working ?? when you installed it, did you specify the correct keyboard layout ??
3. if its freezing in X, can you ctrl-alt-backspace to kill X and restart it ??

partitionless install (what filesystem, FAT32?) - well that just sounds wrong.
Linux needs at least two partitions (swap and root) and works best with ext2fs or reiserFS. Partitionless install on FAT32 is a BAD idea in my oppinion. This time RH people really pushed it. X maybe freezez because there is no swap partition or maybe because it is using FAT32 filesystem. I am only guessing tho, and then i always thought RH is buggy.
