Unhappy Gui login (Mandrake 9.2)

I've just installed Mandrake 9.2 on a PC. I had 9.1 on another computer and it worked fine....

During the set up process (which takes ages!) I set up a user name and set it to automatically log that user into KDE. I also tried it without autologin.

The problems is that it always boots to the Command line and not to the GUI. Unix is great and all that, but I want to do some web browsing. I tried to run 'Xstart' but it failed...

All of the other vistual terminals are command line as well. 9.1 took me to the GUI user name thing straight away.

Can anyone help??

Thanks!

hi satinet, welcome to lq.

the command would be startx. it sounds like your video card did not get configured correctly. what are your system specs?

nleber01, you shouldn't jump someone elses thread. if you have a problem you need to post your own valid thread, as your problem does not seem to be the same problem posted here. just a friendly tip.
