flash editor on linux


it there a version of flash mx that i can install on linux so i can edit my flash files

Nope.

Use and install wine and then check out www.frankscorner.org to see how to get it working using wine.

As for editing your old flash files, you'll have no choice but to use Wine (free if your time is worthless) or better yet, Crossover Office (which isn't free as in beer, but it'll get the job done and it'll do it well -- and yes it works with Flash MX)

However, to create Flash files, OpenOffice Impress 1.1 or later can be used to create Flash (it's easier, but it's not quite as powerful as the real thing) files. That is the method I would recommend personally, but if you'd like to spend time getting Flash to work with wine/X-over then you can feel free to do so
