Fedora 8 Bsnl Browdband internet settings required

Hi! I just installed Fedora 8 in my pc,What I experience is I could not connect internet when i open Firefox. is there any settings? now Iam using XP to find a solution.Can I browse through fedora as XP easily? Iam using Bsnl Broadband Connection.Please help me

Fedora 8 usually detects network connections.Did you try to setup a connection manually?System-Administration-Network(or similar)is the place to look for if not.Maybe is just that Fedora is using a wrong network interface,if you have two of them.Do you have your router/modem turned on before you boot the system.If not,try it.
