Can you post the outputs of ifconfig and lsmod? Please use code tags, thanks!

You would type them in a terminal. Good luck.

Hello,

You do realize that Fedora 11 is old right, stopped support about half a year ago? Get a newer version, most likely your network card will be supported.

Kind regards,

Eric

To add to what I have said - Click on applications on the top, then system tools, then terminal, to access your terminal.

hello eric
yes i know....but at the momment this is best i have...will get 14 soon.....i need to get used to linux till then

to corp769

ok i did that....but cant copy paste as i have to switch between 2 os
but ifconfig gave the following info

ipv4 addr 127.0.0.1 mask 255.0.0.0
i had opted to assign static ip addreses....and i had assigned a different address??

further it gave an ipv6 address
next line is as follows
UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU 16436
RX packets 16 errors 0 dropped 0
TX packets 16 errors 0 dropped 0

You will need to post the full output in order to fully assist you.

And as far as using fedora 11 and getting used to it, it doesn't matter what version you use just to get "used" to it. Linux is linux.

eth0 is your ethernet card. It is well detected.... Is your original question the only question you have?
