Error when trying to install programs


Hi, I get an error when trying to install programs. Im trying to install NDISwrapper so i can get my Wireless Adapter Working (Netgear WG111v2)

here is the error i get:

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

Please help asap.

But what do I run it in? Terminal?

It says:
hill@hill-laptop:~$ dpkg --configure -a
dpkg: requested operation requires superuser privilege

how do i get superuser privilege.

you need to run it as a superuser, ie:

sudo dpkg --configure -a

Now it asks me for a password, what is my password?
