Enter the Kenel
hi all,
what is linux kernel, is it the bash ? or is it another layer underneath ?
Can I go in to kernel like I go in to bash (shell) ?

thanks for the reply the rute link does not work.
I have tried it before but for some reason It doesnot work with (IE6, Firefox, opera, mozilla)

I am not that fortunate. let's leave the that behind for a while.
Can you answer my original question ?
1.
I have installed fedora core2, I can go to the shell (bash) but, what is that mithical kernel thing ? how do I get there ?
2.
I am wondering that I have a 500MB hard with a 486 I would like to install (if possible) something like dos shell ( here I think it is linux kernel , boh!!!!)

As fas as I know rute online uses html.gz ...
maybe Windows browsers can't handle that
mime-type?

I'm in Mozilla on Mandy 10 - no problems at all. Also have viewed it in Knoppix and in WinXP (with Mozilla).
What exactly do you want to do with the kernel?

I dont know why but it does not work with my browser.
anyway
I thought I could install a kernel
only the kernel for my 486 with 500MB hard

If you are on Fedora, Up2Date/Yum/Apt4RPM will do all that for you
