Ok, I know this should be simple...but I'm having a devil of a time getting Fedora and Mandrake to boot from the same lilo on my MBR. Right now, I'm having to boot from floppy to get into my Mandrake, and Fedora boots normally from the MBR.

Anyone know how to make two linux systems duel boot?

You need to know where the boot image is for both partitions.

Then, since it appears that fedora was installed second, log into it.

in console as root type "pico /etc/lilo.conf"

next look for something similar to this

image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.0.36
label=linux
root=/dev/hda2
read-only

You basically need to copy that according to you mandrake configuration.

Thus, if your boot image in mandrake is in /boot/vmlinuz-2.24.34 (numbers will vary, if any)

you would need to put it in

image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.24.34
label= Mandrake
root=/dev/hda
read-only

where root = your mandrake installation partition/boot area
after saving the lilo.conf (ctrl+o, then ctrl+x)

type "lilo" as root
that should say
"adding linux
adding Mandrake"

and all should be swell.


Please post if that isn't enough.
