Driver "fglrx" for "ATI Cedar Pro HD 5450/6350" slow; how to make it quicker?

I newly installed the fglrx driver instead the radeon opensource; the video is better but the movement of windows is very slow. Is there a possibility to accelerate that system?
the Xorg.conf has no specific setup.
Any advice is welcome.

Which version of the driver have you installed? I would recommend to use the latest beta driver, AMD has done some work on 2D acceleration, it should be on par with the open source driver in regards to that now.

The Xorg.0.log posted before indicate a version 14.50.2
Thanks for the advice. I will have a look how to install a new ATI driver in Debian.

Low? = Negativ; Example:
- the CPU load is < 10%
- I click any windows on the border with the left mouse button and draw virtual circles on the screen with the mouse pointer, then don't touch the mouse
- the CPU go for >90% for several seconds and I can see the windows moving slowly on the screen according the mouse movements I gave several seconds before
Positiv: the video (youtube) and streaming are not flickering as before.

This is quite old card and Catalyst already have good drivers support for it. The problem may be of some software incompatibility.

I rather think the problem is that the OP uses antiX 13.2, which is based on Debian Wheezy, and therefore only gets the drivers from those repositories, which, in terms of driver development, are ancient. Both, the free radeon driver and the proprietary Catalyst/fglrx driver, have made quite some improvements since then. Upgrading to antiX 15-beta1 may be enough to solve that problem.

Which one?
All driver versions can be seen in previous posts (log files inxi and Xorg.0.log).

This was an issue of my fluxbox setting.
I made "Fluxbox Settings" "Configuration" "Opaque Window Moving" and now, the CPU is not used too much.
