does Linux have a movie editing software like Microsoft Moive plus

Hi a silly question but i seem to not find any software that matches or is close enough to Microsoft movie plus all i want to do is copy my DV movie from my camcorder to my PC and then edit the movie and then burn it to a CD as VCD or DVD . how simple is that.

could the above be done in Linux.

I am using Linspire 5
