Dial-up in pcLinuxOS2007

How do I get dial-up working in pcLinuxOS 2007? I think I have the Intel 536EP modem, so I went to linmodems, then Intel, then downloaded the source and Mandrake 9.1 driver. I tried installing both according to the instructions in the readme.txt (terminal, make clear, make 536, make install in the directory I extracted them to). However, when I go to KPPP, it doesn't detect my modem. When I used to use MEPISLite, it seemed to pick it up without any need for a driver at all. Are there any internal dial-up modems which don't need a driver?

This page may help you out " http://ltmodem.heby.de/ ". I was surprised that PCLinuxOS didn't have ltmodem driver in their repository. I have it on my home box but have external modem.(No drivers needed)
