Unhappy Desktop Configuration


I have installed suse 10.0 in my desktop of celeron and having a partition with windowsxp which is working fine but in suse 10.0 desktop is flickering whenever i move my mouse anywhere in the screen.
Help Me!

ahhh..SuSE...try searching ANYWHERE for SuSe 3D graphics and the answers will come to you. Basically Suse, fine though it is for many things is not so very good at getting graphics right. May I suggest using a Knoppix live CD to see how things should be?

try reducing the screen resolution/refresh rate. also check if ur hardware is been correctly detected. sometimes the hardware is incorrectly detected which gives problems. i faced this problem once.

Desktop Configuration

Thanks A Lot..

It is working now. I have changed the screen resolution from 1024*768 to 800*600 and refresh rate i have kept is 87

You can optimize the resolution modes and refresh rates by looking at the manual (if you have it) or lookup for your monitor model on the net. You can also start windows and look for what modes and refresh rates it is using...apply that to SuSE and it will most likely work.
