creating launcher

Hi all, compete newb.

AMD 64 (2.6.13-15.8) with openSUSE 10 installed. (note....did get the NVIDIA 3d working...yeehawww)

Anyway,

Trying to add a custom launcher to the panel to run the application /opt/XPLANE/X-Plane-806-athlon-xp

I've looked all over and haven't come up with the correct syntax to use for the 'command' line to execute the program.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on this?

Thanks very much

Hi, and welcome to linuxquestions

What kind of GUI are you using? The two most common are KDE and Gnome.

Sincerely, Jorgen

It should be straightforward:

Right-click on desktop; Select New>Launcher; Fill in Name, Comment, and
Command boxes; Select Type "Application".

Did that work out for you?

Sincerely, Jørgen

Thanks for the reply anti

That is what i did and I put the path to the file in the command line i.e /opt/XPLANE/XPLANE-806-athlon-xp. This program is normally invoked by going to the containing folder and doing a ./blah blah.

thanks
