Error creating a launcher.

I am using red hat 9, when I try to add a shortcut to the menu Internet it comes with an error:
"Cannot save menu item to disk

Details: Error writing file 'applications:/Internet/Firefox.desktop': Unsupported operation"

I am trying to create a launcher for firefox in my menu > internet.
The command is the following: /home/Downloads/firefox/firefox
When I double click that file Firefox comes up. So I thought puting in there...

Are you doing this in KDE? If so, the easiest way to edit the menu in KDE is to use the menu editor under settings. You're running into a permissions problem here.

the command to launch firefox should just be "firefox" what you have here as a command is actually the directory.
