Could not find the file that is generated by gnome-libs install

I want to install XWine and as soon as I try to ./configure, I get the error:
"checking if /usr//bin/gnome-config works... no
checking for file in /usr/local/lib... not found
configure: error: Could not find the file that is generated by gnome-libs install"

can anybody help me resolve this issue?

See this thread:

If that doesn't work, it may be of use to install gnome-libs-devel.
