Changing the root password

Must've been going through the installation too fast because somehow in the Mandrake 10.0 installation I never set my root password! The password now is just.. nothing. No characters, just press enter.

Obviously I really need to change the root password. How do I do this?

in the terminal type:

#passwd

login as root

once in, just type
passwd

which will prompt you to type in a new password. That's it.

yes u shud hav asked me that Q, lol. jus kidding even i m a newbie. jus type passwd, in the terminal. hey ur lucky u dont hav any password, so there is no need to remember that, u can easily put in the password.

for me i had forgotten the root password. things werent as easy for me as they are for u sir.
