cant login startx

so im completely new to this linux thing.. haha yes im used to xp .... so yes im lost...

but ive installed red hat. 7.1 and i go to load it at startx and it gives an error
which is a video problem i think...

(ee) vga(0): given depth (16) is not supported by this driver
(ee) Screen(s) found, but non have a usable configuration

This is an old gateway G6-333c pc, with no video card its all on board video, which im sure is the problem i just chose a generic driver when installing and now its not taking.

what is the output of the command 'redhat-config-xfree86'?

Maybe just reconfiguring screen or videocard might fix the problems.

Change ur vga driver in config file(xfree86 config file). U can use live cds to find usable video driver.
