C++ compiler error


I get this error when I try to compile xmule from source on SuSE 10 Pro, I did install the C++
compiler with SuSE....so i'm not sure what the problem is. Thanks.

checking for C++ compiler default output file name... configure: error: C++ compiler cannot create executables

What is the result if you type "which g++" at the terminal? If the file isn't found you don't have a C++ compiler installed. If it is instaled, make sure you have all the development libraries for compiling C++ programs. They're using in a package called libstdc++-devel or somesuch.

g++ error

I guess i don't have the g++ compiler..i want to try to do as much
program installations from the command line rather that packaged installers too.

yeah i get this error...

snrub@d207-81-65-141:~> "which g++"
bash: which g++: command not found
