Broken File Associations in Gnome

This is probably really simple to solve, but I'm pretty perplexed so here goes.

I am running Mandrake 9.1 with Gnome 2.2. I just uninstalled OpenOffice 1.0.3 and installed the 1.1.0 release according to the instructions on openoffice.org, installing a directory tree in /opt.

Anyhow, I have lost all my file associates in Nautilus. I have tried to use the Gnome 'File types and programs' util (logged in as my user account), but nothing seems to change. What am I doing wrong here?

Any suggestions would be appreciated -

bl

All file associations are gone, or just the ones for OO?
