Bootloader Problems

I had my PC dual booting Windows XP and Slackware, using the lilo bootloader. Now, I decided to remove Slackware, and did so by deleting the partition using Partition Magic from within windows, and then resizing my windows partition back to full size. This went fine, except for when I went to reboot. When I reboot, the screen gets filled with 9's. I know from past experience that this is a bootloader issue, but I'm not sure how to go about fixing it. I'm on the computer now with an Ubuntu Live CD, so I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out how to solve this. Thanks.

hi there

i have not done this with a live cd
but if u have windows CD then u can do that too

boot from a win98 cd
at the command prompt
#fdisk /mbr
will remve grub and rewrite the windows MBR to it

or boot from a winxp/200 cd in to recovery console
and use "fixmbr"

regards
