GRUB bootloader problems

I was trying to install Mandrake Linux 9.1 on my second hard drive, which already had Windows ME on it. My primary hard drive has XP.

When installing Linux on the second hard drive I guess I told the grub bootloader something wrong. Now when I start up the system it displays an L then 9's for about ten seconds before going to ME.

I tried just taking my second HD out but then it just hangs after the 9's. I want to make XP my default boot system. Any ideas? This is really bugging me.

Also, how do I make it boot to a different system?

Thanks.

The configuration file for the bootloader (Lilo) is located on the second hard disk drive, so you can't un-plug it.
Use the Linux boot disk or the Mandrake CD to boot into Linux.
In order to make windowsXP boot by default, you will need to edit /etc/lilo.conf
Change the Label on the default= line to that of windowsXP (you can find the name of the label further down in the file).

To reinstall Lilo, at the command line, type:
Code:
/sbin/lilo -v
