Bash help


Ok all this is a really stupid question but its part of my final and my teacher said i can use anything i like to find the answers...=P what is the command to find out how many commands your .bash_history is keeping track of. I know its an echo _______ something but i dont know what the command is i tried to find out and test but never found it, please help!

man bash would have given you the answer, but here it is:

echo $HISTCMD
