bare minimum

My main goal is to have FC2 boot as fast as possible and run only one certain application all the time no matter what from bootup

I installed almost the bare minimums of fedora core 2 on my machine. I'd like to figure out how to strip it down even more to make it boot faster (ie disable network adapter)

Also i'm looking for a basic command reference for noobs that will get me moving some files around.

I'm working on stuffing a linux based machine inside an old nintendo nes to show off basically.

-thanks
