Backspace & delete key issues

I vaguely remember from solaris that in order to get backspace and del keys working properly via a remote terminal I had to put in some stty command.

I can't remember though.

Anyway, I have the issue here also when I do an ftp from the console to another box, when I use either backspace or delete keys I get giberish like ^H^[[3~^H

How can I fix this?

Cheers

While I find the answer, you can still use control-backspace...

Hope fully more to come

BTW if you find it yourself, please post your result ;-)

Code:
# Stuff to do only if shell is interactive:
if ($?USER && $?prompt) then
# If your backspace key doesn't work, change '^?' to '^H' on next line:
tty -s && stty eof '^d' erase '^?' kill '^x' intr '^c'
I am not sure if this will help.

Yep, this seems to work for me, thanks!

tty -s && stty eof '^d' erase '^H' kill '^x' intr '^c'
